ABOUT THE VINEYARD:
Piemonte, a 24,500-square-kilometer region in northwest Italy, was part of the Kingdom of Sardinia until 1869. Its capital is Turin, home to nearly a million people. Piemonte’s economy has historically depended on agriculture, with farmers producing wheat, rice, corn, and notably wine. The region, whose name means "at the foot of the mountain" in Latin, is known for its striking landscape and prominent wine production, a reputation it established in the 1700s. Today, Piemonte remains one of Italy's leading wine regions, famed for wines with high acidity and strong tannins that age well.
